Escalon Livestock Market was founded by Miguel A. Machado in 1981 at an old auction yard close to downtown Escalon. Construction of the current facility began in August 1991 with its completion and first auction taking place in April 1992.
ELM is situated on a 25+acre site at the northeast corner of Escalon Bellota and East Lone Tree Roads, 2 miles north of the City of Escalon. With an adjoining 50+ acres of irrigated pasture, the ELM property area encompasses about 80 acres.
